Beta Renewable’s Crescentino plant validates the PROESA™ process
at commercial scale:
• Start of production by end 2012
• 60,000 metric tons per year (20 million gallons); initially 40,000 tons
• Non-food biomass (Arundo donax and wheat straw)
• Industry-leading economics
The world’s first commercial-scale cellulosic ethanol plant, in Crescentino Italy, is planned to start production by the end of 2012. Our PROESA™ process allows it to deliver superior economics in converting non-food biomass to sugars for the production of bio-ethanol or bio-chemicals.
